The morning sun glistened softly over the campus of Gospel International School, bathing it in a golden hue as the students gathered with eager faces and green hearts, on June 5, World Environment Day. The air was alive with the gentle hum of excitement, for it was a day dedicated not merely to celebration, but to commitment.

With graceful simplicity, the day began with a symbolic act that spoke louder than a hundred speeches. Our beloved Principal, Mrs. Lavena Nevil, stepped forward to plant a sapling— a tender green promise to the earth. As she pressed the soil around its roots, her gesture echoed a deeper truth: that every small act of care can nurture a larger dream of renewal and hope.

The students, inspired by her example, poured their creativity into a vibrant array of eco-themed activities. From collage making that painted stories of conservation, to trash-to-treasure exhibits where discarded materials found new life and meaning, imagination took on the colors of sustainability. Tiny fingers busily engaged in vegetable printing, transforming humble garden produce into beautiful patterns that celebrated nature’s artistry.
Each creation, each smile, and each word of discussion reflected a single shared belief — that protecting our planet is not a distant duty but a daily choice. The campus bloomed not just with greenery but with awareness, as young voices pledged to become stewards of the Earth.
By the day’s end, the newly planted sapling stood as a symbol of growth — both of the soil and the soul. It whispered a quiet reminder that great change begins with small hands and open hearts. At Gospel International School, World Environment Day was not just observed; it was lived.
